#Terms of Service

Last updated: September 16, 2026

TL;DR: Personal Goober is a free hobby project. Bundles are code written by strangers that runs on your computer with full access to it — install at your own risk, and "trusted" means a human glanced at it, not that it's safe. Don't publish anything malicious, illegal, or that isn't yours to publish. We can remove bundles and ban accounts. There's no warranty and no one to sue.

These terms cover the Personal Goober website (personalgoober.app), the bundle registry behind it, and the desktop app. By using any of them you're agreeing to what's on this page. If you don't agree, don't use them.

#Who we are

Personal Goober is run by an individual as a hobby, not by a company. "We" on this page means the person running it. Reach us at legal@personalgoober.app.

#The app

The desktop app is provided as-is. It listens to you, tries to figure out what you said, and runs actions on your computer. It will sometimes mishear you. Actions — built-in or installed from a bundle — can do anything a program on your computer can do. You're responsible for what you ask it to do and for what you choose to install.

#Bundles: what you're getting

Action bundles on this site are written and published by other users, not by us. When you install one, its code runs on your machine with the same access you have. We don't audit every bundle, and we can't promise any of them are safe, work as described, or won't break something.

Some bundles carry a "trusted" mark. That means a moderator looked at that exact version and didn't see anything obviously wrong. It is not a security audit, not a guarantee, and not an endorsement. A trusted mark applies to one specific version; a newer version of the same bundle isn't trusted until someone reviews it again.

Read a bundle's description, look at what dependencies it asks for, and if you can, read the code. If you install something and it does damage, that's between you and whoever published it.

#Publishing bundles

To publish, you need a Discord account and you must be at least 13 years old.

When you publish a bundle, you're telling us that:

  • You have the right to publish it. It's your own work, or you have permission (a license) to redistribute everything in it, including any dependencies.
  • It does what it says. Your description, summary, and changelog are honest about what the bundle does.
  • It isn't malicious. No malware, no spyware, no crypto miners, no code that quietly does something the user didn't ask for, no bundles designed to harm the user or anyone else.
  • It isn't illegal or abusive. No content that's illegal to distribute, no harassment, no impersonation of other people or their bundles.

By publishing, you give us permission to store your bundle, show it on the site, let people download it, and keep every version of it in the registry's permanent version history. You keep ownership of your code. We don't claim it, and we don't take a cut of anything.

You can delete a bundle from your profile at any time. It'll be hidden immediately and permanently removed after a short retention window (see the privacy policy). Versions people already downloaded stay on their machines — we can't reach into those.

#What we can do

We can remove any bundle, any version, or any account, at any time, for any reason, without warning. In practice that means bundles that break the rules above, bundles that are reported and turn out to be harmful, and the occasional mistake. If we remove something of yours by mistake, email us and we'll put it back.

We can also mark bundles as trusted or untrusted, and change our minds.

#Moderators

A small number of people can see reported and recently deleted bundles and grant or revoke the trusted mark. Moderators are volunteers. They act in good faith, and like the rest of us, they can be wrong.

#Things you can't do

  • Try to break, overload, or get around the site's or registry's security.
  • Scrape the registry in a way that hurts it for everyone else. (Reasonable automated access, like the app checking for updates, is fine.)
  • Publish under someone else's name or pretend a bundle is affiliated with us when it isn't.
  • Use the site or the app to do anything illegal.

#No warranty

Everything here — the site, the registry, the app, and every bundle on it — is provided "as is" and "as available", with no warranty of any kind, express or implied. We don't promise it'll work, keep working, be secure, or be free of bugs. We may change it, break it, or shut it down.

#Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss or damage that comes from using the site, the registry, the app, or any bundle — including lost data, damaged systems, lost income, or anything else — whether we were warned it could happen or not. If the law where you live doesn't allow us to exclude liability entirely, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us, which is nothing.

#Ending things

You can stop using the site whenever you like. Sign out to drop your session, delete your bundles from your profile, or email us to have your account and everything attached to it removed.

We can suspend or remove your account if you break these terms. If we do, the bundles you published may be removed too.

#Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we'll update this page and the date at the top. Anything significant will also be mentioned in the Discord. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the new terms.
